Accessibility
Updated October 10, 2026
We want everyone to be able to play Not Touching and use this website. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA, for this website, and the same standard as far as it applies to a mobile game. We do not meet it everywhere yet. This page says what works, what does not, and how to tell us about a problem.
In the game
- Not by color alone: every region can show a letter as well as a color. The letters turn on by themselves when your iPhone's Differentiate Without Color setting is on, and you can turn them on in Settings at any time. Mistakes are described in words, not only shown in red.
- Contrast: the game's text meets the WCAG AA contrast ratio, and our automated tests check it on every change.
- Reduced motion: the game follows your phone's Reduce Motion setting.
- Screen readers: buttons and board squares have spoken labels; a square reads its row, column, region and what is on it. We have not yet finished testing this with VoiceOver and TalkBack on real devices.
On this website
Images have text alternatives, every link works with a keyboard and shows where the focus is, and the text meets the WCAG AA contrast ratio. An automated accessibility checker (axe) tests every page on each change. The site has no forms and needs no account.
What is not done yet
- Text in the game has a fixed size; it does not follow your phone's text size setting.
- VoiceOver, Voice Control and TalkBack have not yet been tested on a real device from start to finish.
Report a problem
If something in the game or on this site is hard or impossible for you to use, email support@nottouching.app. Tell us your device, the screen or page, and what happened. We read every message and will reply.
